Coach Pavlides Theocharis, Olympiacos
“My team was extremely stressed. Though we had some childish mistakes, we made it to the final. Tomorrow, being less anxious, we can fight for the Trophy. Many people asked me last summer why we took Bianconi in our team and today an the answer. I would say that the match was won by Xrisi Diamantopoulou, when she found her real self. As we had said before the match, with 8 or less goals in defence we could make it to the final. Tomorrow is another day, another game. Kirishi wasn’t suitable for us as playing waterpolo style. I believe we are capable of winning the Trophy!”
Diamantopoulou Chrysoula (Goalkeeper), Olympiacos
Everything went as we wished! Tomorrow we need to give more than our 100%! It will be a totally different game. We must take some rest and play this tremendously important final. We will have to confront 8 opponents, 7 of the opposite team and one more: our stress! Our great willingness to win the trophy is granted and we believe we can make our supporters as happy as it gets!”
Roberta Bianconi, Olympiacos
“I am extremely happy for our qualification to the final! I scored 6 goals, but you shouldn’t believe I wasn’t stressed. Even though we didn’t play well today, tomorrow is another day. It will be harder and tougher, not only for me but also for the whole team. If we don’t play like today, we have many hopes to win the Trophy!”
Assistant Coach, Jelena Smurova
“Since the beginning, it was a pretty difficult match for us. Probably we weren’t ready for the game, both physically and mentally. One reason that we didn’t have our rhythm was that Russian Championship has finished. Tomorrow we have to fight for third position”
