Olympiacos coach, Mr. Haris Pavlidis, was proud and happy:
“This Trophy is not the biggest prize, but the fact that we won an unbeatable team who hadn’t lost for the last three years! I had told my girls that if we don’t win today, Sabadell may lose again after another three years! We expected this match since we lost by 9-8 in Barcelona for the Super Cup in November. Today we were stressed at the beginning, but soon found mental strength and a clear mind. We won the lion! Two years ago, when we had lost the championship against Vouliagmeni, I declared my belief that we are going soon to be on Greece’s and Europe’s top! Today is our day!”
Mr. Michalis Kontouris, President of Olympiacos (Other Sports), promised that their team will try to remain on waterpolo Everest in following years.
President of Hellenic Swimming Federation, Mr. Dimitris Diathesopoulos, expressed his happiness:
“It is a great success, coming in a difficult and unpleasant situation for Greek society. Our sports is the great ambassador abroad! Our athletes keep greek flag always on top!”
Goalkeeper Xrisi Diamantopoulou, after making some superb saves, said that: “I can’t believe it yet! It is a great moment for us and for the club!”
Center Forward, Alexandra Asimaki, was extremely happy: “Sabadell hadn’t lost for three whole years! There is no bigger happiness and blessing to live these moments in front our fans! Now we are the best team in Europe!”
Filio Manolioudaki, scoring the last two winning goals, stated: “I just read carefully the last minutes, I couldn’t think anything else under this pressure. This is a huge success for the club! I won’t forget these moments in my whole life and I hope that God will help me live many more!”

Coach Ignasi “Nani” Guiu Vidal, commented: “Congratulations to Olympiacos. I was told that coach Pavlidis made some flattering comments for our team and I would like to thank him. I would like to comment on today’s referees’ presence. It was a quite tough game and details made the whole difference! Unfortunately we lost”
