Our Olympiacos lined-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Roberto at the goal. In defense, from right to left, there was Salino, Papazoglou, Papadopoulos (captain) and Cholevas. N’Dinga and Samaris were the midfield duo, whereas young Vergos (right) and Perez (right) took on the wings. Dominguez would be linking our midfield with the attack, playing at the back of Valdez.
The match pace was far from quick, due mainly to Aris passive display on the pitch.
Despite all that, our side scored in 84’. Cholevas launched the cross from the left and Valdez promptly connected and netted it for 1-0, which was ultimately the final score. Aris finished the match with 10 men after Iraklis was sent off following a dangerous challenge on Maniatis in 85’.
