Vasilis Torosidis

Born in Xanthi on June 10, 1985, Vassilis Torosodis was a professional footballer of Xanthi, Olympiacos, Roma and Bologna.
He started his career in football from his hometown outfit, Xanthi, in 2002, and stayed there until the 2006/07 season before moving to Piraeus. He spent six years in Olympiacos and then took the step abroad signing for Roma FC.
After his 3-year spell in Rome (2013-2016), he went to Bologna for another two years. In summer 2018, he returned to the Legend to close his career after the 2019-20 season. In total, he won 12 titles all with the Olympiacos jersey on. In particular, he was crowned Greek champion 7 times and won the Greek cup another four; he also won the Greek Super Cup once. He was nominated Best Greek Player for the 2009/10 season.
He appeared 1010 times with the National Team, which ranks him 4th in the list of most capped players in history. He took part in the 2010 and 2014 World Cup finals, as well as the Euro 2008 and 2012 finals; in fact, he was a regular in all matches of the finals.
After the end of his career, he took on the position of Olympiacos Technical Director.
