Center Forward, Alexandra Asimaki, standing by the pool, remembered the moments after she signed to Olympiacos last summer: “While we were negotiating for my transfer, we had already said that our aim will be to win the European Championship. This was the target we worked for, this is why I came here and I deeply believed in it”
The top scorer in Champions’ League history (177 goals) also said “This is my third European Cup, after my first two with Vouliagmeni, but the feeling is so special and unrepeatable! The power of our fans is something that everyone in Europe is really jealous of!”
Making her references on the match, Asimaki commented that “Sabadell is indeed a great team and they play together for many years now, while Olympiacos is a newly recruited team. Many girls like me came this year in our team, we are young, without their massive experience. This is why our accomplishment to overturn their 4-1 lead, while they are really capable of controlling any game’s rhythm, is marvellous!”
