Olympiacos FC and President Evangelos Marinakis once again showed the team’s social face. Within the framework of the match for the Super League championship between Olympiacos and Lamia in “G. Karaiskakis,” members of the Structures of Supported Living “THETIS” & “FAIDON” were hosted at “G. Karaiskakis.”
They travelled from Tripoli to Piraeus and after touring the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, they were present in the stadium’s stands and watched the matched between Olympiacos and Lamia.
The Structures of Supported Living (SYD) serve the primary right for independent living of every person with Intellectual Disabilities and aims at developing and maintaining to the maximum the residents’ already acquired skills and abilities, so that they live as independently and actively as possible in society’s natural environment. The SYDs aim to avoid the “marginalisation” or “institutionalisation” of persons with intellectual disabilities (PID). SYDs are also “residences,” however, residency of PIDs cannot constitute “closed care” or “hospitalisation.”
