Darko Kovacevic

Darko Kovačević was born on November 18, 1973, in the city of Covin, in the region of Vojvodina. At an early age, he joined his home team, Radnički Kovin, followed by Proleter Zrenjanin, Crvena zvezda, Sheffield Wednesday, Real Sociedad, Juventus, and Lazio.
In 2007, the Serb signed for Olympiacos, where he completed his great career after two years of play, scoring 31 goals in 61 appearances with the “red-and-whites.” He played 59 times with his national team, scoring 10 goals and participated, among others, in the 1998 World Cup and the Euro 2000.
Kovačević won two Championships and two Cups with Olympiacos, while he was the top scorer of the UEFA Cup with eight and ten goals, in the 1998–1999 and 1999–2000 seasons, respectively. After the completion of his career, he worked for Olympiacos as head of the scouting department, as well as a technical consultant. In February, 2024, he assumed the position of the club’s Sports Director.
