Head Coach
Carlos Corberán Vallet was born on 7 April 1983 in Valencia. He holds a UEFA Pro diploma and, following his retirement from action at the age of 23 as a goalkeeper, he took his first training steps in Villarreal, where he remained for six years, three of which in the first team’s staff, under the guidance of Juan Carlos Garrido.
Acting on the recommendation of Pep Guardiola, Corberán took over as assistant coach at Al Ittihad, leading the club to the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League alongside Raúl Caneda. In Saudi Arabia he also worked in Al Nasr, once again at Caneda’s side. At the end of 2016 he was in Cyprus and took over as first coach in Doxa Katokopias, followed by Hermes Aradippou.
In June 2017, he signed with Leeds and assumed the position of coach of the K23 team. A year later, following the recruitment of Marcello Bielsa, he became part of the first team’s technical staff alongside the Argentine coach, having in parallel responsibilities with K23. During their two-year partnership with Bielsa, Leeds secured the rise to the Premier League.
In the summer of 2020, Corberán decided to step down and take over the technical leadership of Huddersfield, with which he reached the final of the Championship in the Premier League in the 2021–2022 season. Since August 2022 he has been the coach of the greatest Greek club, Olympiacos!
