Olympiacos FC President Mr Vaggelis Marinakis visited the Olympiacos Fun Club of New York, where he actually watched our side’s victorious match against Kalloni.
Hundreds of fans gave a warm welcome to Olympiacos FC President who attended the club’s pie cut.
“I am particularly happy to be here with you, and I know very well that the heart of OLYMPIACOS beats HERE as strongly as in Piraeus! Most of you have been living in this country for many years and still keep the blue-white flag of Greece high in the sky with pride, as well as the flag of our OLYMPIACOS.
And I know that part of your pride has to do with OLYMPIACOS. Because OLYMPIACOS is much more than a team or a simple club. As you all know, our side is currently going through one of its history’s most glorious periods!
In Greece, we are the uncontested winners, whereas our campaigns in Europe have brought our LEGEND amongst the continent’s finest clubs. OLYMPIACOS is a club in absolute health, despite all Greek and European crisis.
Building on properly planned actions and a vision that derives from our love for OLYMPIACOS, we go against the current! We daily invest in and take care of our cherished team, in order not just to survive the crisis -and keep away of the hands of frauds, opportunists and smugglers, as it is the case with other historic clubs that have been destroyed or barely subsist on lies- but also to play a leading part in Greece and Europe, making thus all Greeks proud in a time they need this more than ever!
Our side has fully met -for the 2nd consecutive year- UEFA’s most rigid standards on Financial Fair Play. It keeps on investing daily in its infrastructure by establishing a paradigm of a Football Academy that has now received international acclaim following its successes in all ages. These investments come out from our own pocket, and not others or the State’s.
We take part in all European developments that regard the continent’s top clubs and we stand as peers of major European football brands. Our raw material is the talent pool of Greece, that is, Greek players who form the backbone of our side and that of our National Team, which will perform in Brazil during the coming World Cup.
Our best ambassadors are the players who convey to the world the greatness of our club, while playing for the team or after they have left. It is not by chance that players and managers, such as Ernesto, Miralas, Torosidis, Fetfatzidis, Fejsa (who currently excel in top championships), speak well of Olympiacos wherever they are!
It is not also by chance that top football figures that have joined the team, like Saviola or Michel, advertise Olympiacos and Greek football! Olympiacos is now member of Europe’s elite and this is ascertained both inside and outside the pitch!
Our club’s mission is to return the love it receives from millions of people to those fellow men and women who need it so!
We have founded the Οlympiacos Foundation, in order to streamline Olympiacos huge charitable work.
It was during 2013 when a historic event for our club’s charitable work occurred. Our partnership of love with UNICEF wrote a golden page in the history book of our LEGEND. As you already know, OLYMPIACOS will be helping UNICEF by providing vaccination to 50.000 children in Greece and abroad! This is our message to the world: beyond a country in crisis, there is also our Greece that is ready to offer and grows; a country that always stands next to the Greeks living there or anywhere on Earth. And you know better than anyone else that there are Greeks everywhere!
Rest assured that we should not stop here! OLYMPIACOS goes on and grows day by day. It keeps filling the Greek people with hope in these critical times for our country. OLYMPIACOS fans should be certain that our side will constantly become better and that the name of OLYMPIACOS will get bigger day by day. And let’s hope that more clubs will follow us on that path.
