The second leg of Olympiacos pre-season in America continues and improvement comes as a result of competitive ICC friendlies. But how do two freshmen see this part of the pre-season? Dimitris Kolovos and Tasos Avlonitis share their views in front of the OlympiacosTV camera.
In details:
TASOS AVLONITIS
We find ourselves in Olympiacos pre-season’s second leg, which takes place in America, really far away from home. How is it going for you?
There is a difference with the first leg. We have our friendlies here that are quite challenging. I think that until now we have performed well and this is what our training is about: trying to stick to our coach’s plan. Apart from fitness-related training, there is also tactics and we have to take that in. Such friendlies take place in order to display these things on the pitch; Ithink we have done it up to an extent and we shall continue this way.
The side seems to be getting better and better, regardless of results. Do you feel more and more comfortable in Olympiacos?
Indeed, i feel increasingly comfortable. I have been well adjusted, especially during the second leg. My teammates have helped me a lot, whom Iused to know from long ago. Both me and all newcomers in the club have been helped a lot by the great atmosphere in the club. Each onetries to become better for his part, in order to evolve as a team and, via these friendlies, to become better.
What has been the part played by Mr Michel in your adjustment in Olympiacos?
The coach himself and all his staff helped me a lot. That was of catalytic importance so i feel comfortably and become part of the side, and I would like to thank him for that a lot.
DIMITRIS KOLOVOS
Following Austria, you came to America for the pre-season;s second leg. To what extent has your work here been different?
We are doing less running and more of tactical practice, ball drills. we have our friendlies which we get well prepared for and we try to stick more to the tactical part.
Since you mentioned the friendlies, Olympiacos has already faced strong sides both on Us and canadian soil. there is another coming against Manchester City. what are your thoughts on that?
Until now, we have displayed well in the ICC, and indeed there is another tough match coming. The fixture against Manchester City will be as important as the previous ones, and we shall deal with it by getting properly prepared for that.
Personally speaking, how is your integration in Olympiacos going?
I feel much better day by day. All guys, both the players and coaching staff, have helped me a lot to blend in with the team. They are really standing close to us.
Are you looking forward to returning to Greece and start with official fixtures?
It will be great to start with our campaigns in Greece. I can hardly wait!
