The… Legendary Tour has come to an end! On July 21, Olympiacos started their long journey to the States and Canada in order to participate in the important International Champions Cup tournament and after three exceptional displays, followed by two wins (one on penalties) and a defeat that could have just as easily had a different outcome, against top-flight European football clubs such as Milan, Liverpool and Premier League Champions, Manchester City, returned on home soil on Monday afternoon.
Our side, after having made their name even more known worldwide, been next to their supporters who live many kilometres away and created the best possible impression with their display, started their way home on Sunday. It took almost a day to return home, since from Minneapolis, where our side were for the match against Manchester City, the squad travelled to New York and from there, following a long wait in the airport, to Milan.
After spending approximately 2 hours in Malpensa, our side’s players, the coaching staff and all the people escorting the team, again boarded the airplane to finally arrive in Athens and the “Eleftherios Venizelos” shortly before 18:00 p.m.
Despite being obviously exhausted, they all returned home carrying the many moments they lived all these days and the satisfaction that they did their best collecting experiences that will help the team go even higher!
Mr Michel has given the players two days off and has set a… date for Thursday morning at 9 a.m. in Renti in view of the two upcoming friendlies against Athletic Bilbao in “Georgios Karaiskakis” Stadium on August 13 and Fenerbahçe in Istanbul 3 days later.
