Our Olympiacos continues to work daily towards the elimination of racism and all forms of discrimination both in and out of sports! Our club actively participates in the fight against the scourge of racism; this is why the Olympiacos super star Eric Abidal and the Sports Director Mr Pierre Isa were present at the “International Conference against Racism in Greek Football”, held in “Technopolis” at Gazi.
Eric Abidal, as well as Mr Isa, passionately expressed the intention of our club to contribute in any way we can in the fight against discriminations. They talked about the need to respect everyone and the choice to make a stand against all incidents that discredit sports and the people involved in them.
Abidal stated the following to the Olympiacos TV camera, pointing out: “It is important to participate in these actions, to say no to discrimination, no to racism. We all have to try and develop a good mentality of equality between people all over the world; not to favor colors or religions. What matters is to learn and decide to show respect to everyone, inside and outside the pitch, and to engage ourselves in a non-strop struggle against racism. No to discrimination, no to racism”!
Mr. Pierre Issa, for his part, said the following: That was a great day, a great opportunity for everyone to come here and express their support in the battle against discrimination and racism. We hope that by showing dedication, both in football and sports in general, we may fight down all those symptoms, anywhere they may be identified. I come from a country, South Africa, which seized the opportunity and is staging a war against discrimination. I reckon that we can do the same both inside and outside the pitch. We have to stop all discriminations and racism”.
