The great signing of yet another great player is a fact for Olympiacos! Esteban Cambiasso will continue his long and rich (in experience and titles) career in Olympiacos and since Friday evening, he is a part of the Olympiacos family and ready to face new challenges and of course to win titles!

Shortly after signing his contract, Cambiasso made his first quotes, as a player of Olympiacos, and stated he is ready to have a leading part in the team and that he is happy to return to the Champions League!

Welcome to Olympiacos! Are you ready to have a leading role in the team?

Thank you for the warm welcome! I am ready to help, to do what I did in the other clubs I played for, to help Olympiacos achieve better results, something we all want!

How do you feel about returning to the Champions League as a player of Olympiacos?

I am really happy. I hope we will play as many matches as we can in the Champions League. Everyone is happy that Olympiacos participates in this competition. So am I; I am first of all happy that Olympiacos will play in the Champions League and am also happy that I will participate in it.

Esteban Cambiasso joins Olympiacos after enjoying an illustrious career that took him from Argentina to Spain, Italy, and England. Cambiasso first started with the youth team of Argentinos Juniors before moving to the youth team of Real Madrid. He made his first senior appearance in his native country with Argentinian side Independiente, where he would played for three seasons, and later for one season with River Plate.

In 2002, he moved back to Real Madrid, this time to the senior team. In his two years in Spain, he helped the team secure the Spanish La Liga title, the Spanish Supercopa, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup. In 2004 he moved to Internazionale Milan where he would stay for 10 years. In 10 successful years, he helped his team secure five Serie A titles, one UEFA Champions League title, four Coppa Italia titles, four Supercoppa titles, and one FIFA Club World Cup title. In 2014, he moved to Leicester City where he was voted as the team’s Best Player of the 2014-2015 season.

Cambiasso represented Argentina 52 times between 2000 and 2011, having been selected for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Copa America of 2007 and 2011, and the 2005 Confederations’ Cup.

With over 500 appearances and over 18 titles across Europe, Cambiasso will look to add more to his name with Olympiacos this season!
