Our country has been found and still is before a major challenge of great difficulty: that was to host a large wave of refugees and support them in any way possible! It is the residents of the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea holding the frontline and watching thousands of refugees reaching neighboring countries, in order to find a safe passage to Europe or else stay here and seek a better future.
The contribution by Greek islanders led them to become candidates for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize; two of Olympiacos stars, “Chori” Dominguez and Brown Ideye, supported this cause by means of their vote. Both Olympiacos stars were interviewed during a story in MEGA Channel’s 8 o’ clock news and after casting their vote in favor of Greek islanders, they invited the Greek people to click and vote, in order to make this attempt a success!
Both “Chori” and Brown said to MEGA Channel’s camera that the mere pictures they saw have moved them, during our side’s visit to the island of Mitilini; they also stressed how praiseworthy was the effort paid by Greek islanders. Normal people trying to mitigate the suffering of people reaching our shores! By means of their vote they have substantially supported this sacred cause served also by our compatriots, in the islands of the Aegean Sea, and shed light on the pathway of awareness and action to the rest of Greeks.
In a country that has learnt to fight to protect everything sacred it stands up for, in a population that knows how to fight for its beliefs and for what is in their heart, the Greek islanders show the way. “Chori”, Ideye Brown and the entire Olympiacos club support the candidacy of Greek islanders for the Nobel Peace Prize!
