The Chinese delegation was headed by Chairman Yan Jun, who was accompanied by 5 of his Group and Club executive assistants, namely Messrs Jiang Gongsheng, Dong Zhigang, Huang Haidong, Liu Changman and Ye Zhenya.
Olympiacos FC CEO, Mr. Ioannis Vrentzos, gave a tour to the Chinese delegation in the “G. Karaiskakis” premises and the Rentis Training Center. The Chinese expressed their amazement with the premises quality and made lots of questions, in particular with regard to Olympiacos structure and organization, heavily focusing on the Academies and Football Schools.
While at the Rentis Training Centre, Chairman Yan Jun and his executives watched a part of Olympiacos training session.
After the training ended, the Chinese Chairman shook hands with all players, had his photo taken with them and spent time for a warm chat with our coach, Mr. Marco Silva.
At the helm of S.I.P.G’s Red Eagles stands famous Swedish coach Sven-Göran Ericsson and, therefore, the Chinese had a warm discussion with Jimmy Durmaz. Many famous players are currently playing for this club, including Ghanaian Asamoah and Brazilian Elkesson.
Then, the President of Olympiacos Mr Evangelos Marinakis hosted the Chinese delegation for lunch and exchanged views with Mr Jun both on football-related issues and many business and shipping topics.
The Chinese delegation’s visit in Piraeus was their European tour final stage, which included meetings with top clubs, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and, of course, Olympiacos!
