This year’s turnout at the volunteer blood donation event organized by Olympiacos at “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium exceeded all expectations. Held shortly before the memorial service honoring the 21 victims of the Gate 7 tragedy, Olympiacos hosts this blood drive annually on this day. This time, the Legend’s supporters were out in full force, with a large number of volunteer donors honoring the memory of the victims of Gate 7, from February 8, 1981.

During the blood drive, Panagiotis Bantounas, Olympiacos’ volunteer blood donation coordinator and ticketing manager, spoke about the overwhelming participation of the club’s supporters, stating:
“The turnout of volunteers for the mere ten minutes it takes to give blood has been unprecedented. In fact, just one day earlier, we had to announce that we could no longer accept additional appointments. Of course, all volunteers who still wish to donate blood may do so at Metaxa Hospital, where Olympiacos has maintained a blood bank for years, in excellent cooperation with the Metaxa Hospital and its director. We sincerely thank the people, especially on this meaningful day for Olympiacos—the anniversary of one of the most tragic moments in our history, during our centennial year. A big thank you to all the volunteer blood donors for their tremendous presence”.
