In their final friendly before returning to Greece, Olympiacos faced Union Berlin and came away with a 1–0 win in Germany. The reigning Greek double winners thus wrapped up the second phase of their summer friendlies. Across their training camps in the Netherlands and Germany, they played seven matches – winning six of them against NAC Breda, Norwich, AZ Alkmaar, ADO Den Haag, Al Taawoun, and Union Berlin, and drawing only once, against Heerenveen.
The decisive goal in Germany came in the 74th minute, when Chiquinho fired a superb shot from outside the box.
