The president of Olympiacos FC, Evangelos Marinakis, was present at the UEFA draw in Monaco for the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League. After the draw concluded, the leader of the Legend spoke to MEGA:
“It was a tough draw; we are playing against strong teams — Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Ajax. Of course, as we’ve said many times, we like difficult challenges. I believe Olympiacos has the experience in big matches, we have a good team, and I believe we can qualify for the next round.
Our main target is always the Greek championship, but also to do well in Europe, and especially now in the Champions League our players must give everything, so that until the very last moment we can prepare ourselves better. There will also be some additions, which I believe will help both in the Champions League and in the Greek league. We are cautiously optimistic, and the ball is at our feet — we need to play as well as possible, stay focused, and try to make our dreams come true. We continue to dream, we continue to aim higher, and I am very optimistic that in the end everything will turn out well.
We need our supporters close to us — they are with us at Karaiskakis as well as in away games, they are our 12th player, and they will continue to be. We owe them a lot, and I believe every year we give them something more”.
