Olympiacos FC announces the signing of the great Iranian national team striker Mehdi Taremi. Born on 18 July 1992, he played for Inter last season, making 43 appearances, scoring three goals and providing nine assists. From 2020 to 2024, he wore the Porto shirt, making 182 appearances, scoring 91 goals and providing 56 assists, winning one Championship, two Super Cups, three Cups and one League Cup. In the 2020-2021 season, he made his Champions League debut and his extraordinary goal against Chelsea was named the best of that campaign in Europe’s premier club competition.
In the 2019-2020 season, he was the top scorer in the Portuguese Primeira Liga with Rio Ave, finishing the year with 21 goals and five assists in 37 games. Before signing for Al-Gharafa SC in Qatar (19 goals, 9 assists), he achieved impressive numbers with Persepolis in his home country in three and a half years, scoring 55 goals in 112 games, providing 21 assists, winning two championships, one Super Cup and twice winning the top scorer title. In his homeland, he also played for Shahin Bushehr and Iranjavan. He has made 95 appearances for the Iranian national team (56 goals) and has participated in two World Cups (2018, 2022).
