Olympiacos deserved more in London

Olympiacos fell 2-0 to Arsenal in England, but their performance merited a better result.

In their second match of the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League, the Greek double winners delivered a spirited display against Arsenal, particularly in the second half, yet came away empty-handed.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 12th minute with Martinelli. Olympiacos thought they had equalized in 67’ when Chiquinho found the net, but the goal was ruled out for an offside by El Kaabi at the start of the move. Deep into stoppage time, Saka sealed the win for Arsenal, making it 2-0 in the 90+2’.
