How did you see the performances of Yazici and Nascimento? Did they show that you can count on them more in the future?
Yes, but not just those two — other players also showed that they can contribute. The good thing is that we can see there are many options, and we can get something from every player in the squad. Even those who didn’t play tonight have shown in other matches that they can perform well. A team isn’t made up of only 11 players, but of those 20+ ones we have at our disposal. We saw that all the players are here and ready to help.
A comment on the fact that whichever forward is capped, he immediately scores; also, on the fact that you started your lineup essentially with four center-backs.
Starting with the second part of your question — it’s true that these players are usually used in central defense, but we’ve also seen them play out wide because they’re capable players, and we’ve used them in those positions before in training. It’s important that our three forwards are scoring, but even more important is that they have a great relationship and excellent chemistry with each other. We’re happy with our choices because they show every day in training that they get along well and find it easy to work together on the pitch.
