After the Cup final against Atromitos at the OAKA stadium, David Fuster along with Mirallas, Mianiatis and Torossidis spoke to the press.

Here is what they said:

David Fuster
“I am very happy to have won this trophy as well as to have scored a very important goal; especially for our crowd.

In games like these you never know what might happen. We tried harder and the fact that we managed to score in the end is extra important. This trophy is also very significant for me personally, as it is my second season here and although I’ve won two championships I had never won the Cup.”

Kevin Mirallas
“In football it is possible to dominate a game and still concede a goal. That’s what happened to us today. It’s a good thing that in the end we managed to win. This season was the best of my career so far. I am hoping that the best is yet to come, but even so this year will be always imprinted in my memory.

I would like to dedicate this trophy to my family, the fans of Olympiacos as well as the entire team. Winning this title was also the best way to say goodbye to our coach.”

About the most important moment of the season: “I would have to say the game against PAOK, where we first began to realize that the championship was still open and that we could actually still win it”.

Yiannis Maniatis
“We came in strong, performed well and had our fair share of goalscoring opportunities. We only reached the victory in the last minutes, but that’s football. Winning the double was the team’s objective for the season all along. I believe it was a fair result as we had many chances to score. The players of Atromitos are definitely worthy of many congratulations for their effort. We really wanted to win this trophy and we struggled down to the very last minute.

We would like to dedicate this Cup to our coach and our President. It’s a pity he will not be with us next season… In my point of view, he is a great coach and a great person.”

Vassilis Torossidis
“We should have won the game in regular time and not in the extra time. All’s good that ends good though. It was a very prosperous season for us both in Greece and in Europe. I would like to dedicate this double to my father who has not been with us for eight years now and yesterday would have been his birthday had he been still alive.

I’ve been on this team for 5,5 years now and I’ve always done my best. I’m not ashamed to say that I would like to try something different abroad but I am only willing to leave Olympiacos for something much better.”
