Both men took part in a charity match having the jersey of Variete Club de France on. The game took place at the Léo-Lagrange stadium in Poissy, France, and French President in fact scored a penalty goal!
The match was organized by the hospital charity organisation ‘Fondation des Hopitaux’, chaired by Mr Macron’s wife, Brigitte, and all proceeds shall be given to the Medical Institute for Mothers and Children in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The team of Messrs Karembeu and Macron also featured top French and international football veterans in the likes of Arsen Wenger, Alain Giresse, Marcel Dessailly, Robert Pires, Soni Anderson and Rudi Garcia.
