Olympiacos FC announces the transfer of Šime Vrsaljko.
Born on the 10th of January 1992, the 30-year-old right-back signed a 3-year contract with Olympiacos and will be wearing the “red-white” jersey.
Since 2016, the international right full back played for Atlético Madrid, and was capped in 99 games, with 3 goals and 10 assists. During the last season, he participated in 28 games, 20 of which in La Liga, five in the Champions League, and two in Copa del Rey; he also played in the Spanish Supercopa semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.
During the 2018–2019 season, Vrsaljko was loaned to Inter, while in the past he played for Dinamo Zagreb, Lokomotiva Zagreb, Genoa and Sassuolo.
Throughout his remarkable career, he has participated in 89 games in Serie A and 69 in La Liga.
During his course with Dinamo Zagreb he won four championships (2009–2010, 2010–2011, 2011–2012, 2012–2013) and two cups (2010–2011, 2011–2012), while with Atlético Madrid he won a championship (2020–2021) and a Europa League (2017–2018).
Vrsaljko has represented the Croatian national team 52 times and in 2018 he was a key player during the World Cup final against France. He attended two European (2012, 2016) and two World Cups (2014, 2018).
