He debuted with Daejeon Citizen and transferred to the MLS Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019 (94 participations, 15 goals, 13 assists), while in the meantime he was loaned to Asan Mugunghwa.
In August 2020 he was bought by the Russian Rubin Kazan, participating in 38 games, scoring 4 goals, and 7 assists. In April 2022, the 26-year-old returned to his country of origin on behalf of Seoul, participating in 10 matches.
