Olympiacos FC announces José Anigo as the club’s new Director of Football.
Along with his new duties, José Anigo will remain the head of Olympiacos Academy and will be the link between our First team, Second Team and our Under teams.
The 61-year-old Frenchman has been identified with Marseille, where he worked as their U-teams coach, guiding players in the likes of Samir Nasri, Seydou Keita, Mathieu Flamini, Andre and Jordan Ayew.
Then, as their First Team coach, he led the team to the 2004 UEFA Cup final; during his spell as their Director of Football, they won one championship title and three cups, they featured five times in the Champions League and four times in the UEFA Europa League. He has worked with players like Drogba, Ribery, Valbuena, Ben Arfa, Bartez and Mandanda.
He has been signed by many clubs as their head coach, and in October 2019 he took on as Head of Scouting for Nottingham Forest.
