Although Olympiacos were the better team than Bayer 04 Leverkusen in Germany, they failed to score this one goal that would have boosted their hopes of qualification and the game at the BayArena ended goalless in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs, following their great and historic progression to the League Phase of the competition. The “Red-and-whites” pushed for a goal until the final whistle in Germany and controlled proceedings, but they were unable to claim the away win that would have sent them through to the competition’s Round of 16, after the 2-0 defeat at the “G. Karaiskakis” a week earlier.
