Olympiacos welcomed Atromitos to the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium for their opening match of the Stoiximan Super League season and secured a 1-0 victory. Although the winning goal came in the closing stages of the match, the “red-and-whites” created numerous chances and missed a penalty, while dominating play for the majority of the game.
Carmo scored the goal that secured all three points for Olympiacos in the 82nd minute, while two minutes earlier, in the 80th minute, Choutesiotis saved El Kaabi’s penalty. The “red-and-whites” finished the match with ten men following Rodinei’s dismissal with a straight red card in the 90+1st minute.
