One week after Olympiacos’ away victory over AEL in the League Phase of the Greek Cup, they made it two wins from two by defeating Volos 3-2 on Matchday 2 of the competition. The “red-and-whites” were the better side throughout the match and could have scored many more goals from the chances they created.
Armando González scored twice for Olympiacos, in the 42nd and 50th minutes, before Puerta made it 3-0 in the 68th minute. Volos reduced the deficit to 3-2 through goals from Matías González and Charalampoglou in the 79th and 89th minutes respectively.
