Olympiacos FC announces the appointment of Imanol Alguacil Barrenetxea as the Club’s head coach.
Born on 4 July 1971 in Orio, in the Basque Country, he came through the ranks at Real Sociedad, where he spent many years both as a player and as a coach.
The 55-year-old coach was in charge of Real Sociedad’s first team for six and a half seasons, from 2018 to 2025, overseeing 330 matches. Under his management, the club won the Copa del Rey in 2021.
His last club before joining Olympiacos was Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab.
