The president of Olympiacos F.C. Evangelos Marinakis visited today the facilities of our team’s training center at AG.I. Rentis and spoke to the players.
On the occasion of the official openings of the team’s commitments for the upcoming season, Mr. Marinakis addressed the players underlying the fact that Olympiacos is a big, united family and that the Administration will be on their side at all times, despite the truly difficult conditions around us. He asked the players to give all their best in every match, starting with the game against Marseille next Tuesday, in order for the team to succeed in accomplishing its goals this season.
Mr. Marinakis, said: “I welcome the new players to our team and wish you all, strength and above all health. As the old already know and the newcomers will soon learn, Olympiacos is a family, one “fist” united, as much as in joy and success, as well as in hardships. This is how we succeeded last year, this is how we must operate this year! I want you all to know that the administration and me personally, will continuously stand by your side and we will support your efforts in any difficult situation that might occur.
What I am asking from you is seriousness and discipline, both on and off the pitch. Last year we had a very good team and I believe that with this year’s additions we will be even more competitive. The coach and the technical staff are working together, and along with the Administration, will be close to you.
Some might say that we are the favorites to win, because our opponents are facing problems, however this is not the case and I want none of you to consider us or speak of us as such. None of our opponents is falling apart, as some like to say, on the contrary we are facing, as every year, strong teams and opponents who want to win us. I am aware of the fact that you have not competed in an official match for approximately five months and this definitely hardens even more your effort on Tuesday. However, this is why I expect from you an ever greater effort, passion and strength. I want you to give your best in the match on Tuesday!
I wish everyone a good football season. “
