The president of Olympiacos F.C. Evangelos Marinakis held a meeting today with representatives of our team’s fan clubs at “G. Karaiskakis” stadium. In his speech, after reviewing last year’s successful results, he set the goals for the coming season, which are to win the national Championship and Greek Cup and perform well in Europe.
He also emphasized that an added goal is to fill the stadium with fans. Characteristically he stated: “We have to rank first in ticket sales; first, in dynamic fans’ presence; and last in pointless and stupid fines (because of bad behaviour)”.
He then, exchanged views with the fan clubs’ representatives on football in general, our country’s financial crisis and its effects on football, as well as on issues regarding the operation of the fan clubs and sporting violence.
Moreover, he made it clear that Olympiacos F.C. is the first, amongst others, to demand transparency, always based on true evidence and the Greek legislation, and is the first to insist on an equal treatment for all teams from the referees, for the simple reason that Olympiacos is a team, which truly invests in football; has the best roster; and as we would like to believe has the best team.
In addition, there was full compatibility in the view that Olympiacos F.C. and its fans, need to show interest in real football issues, rather than irrelevant matters dealt by those who cannot handle real football.
