The long flight to Australia ended a few minutes after 12.30 (Greek time) on Wednesday, when the delegation of OLYMPIACOS finally landed in Melbourne!
As expected, the welcome to the players and the coaching staff by their fans was really warm! Hundreds of Greeks travelled to the Tullamarine Airport to greet the squad, turning the terminal into a small… “Karaiskakis” stadium.
The crowd chanted several well-known slogans, attributed to the “Legend”. It is only natural that this greeting left Ernesto Valverde and his players somewhat speechless.
During their visit to Australia, Olympiacos will have many things to do but will also enjoy some time off; on Wednesday the delegation will rest given the long trip and the time difference (Australia is 7 hours ahead of Greece) and on Thursday, at four o’clock in the morning (Greek time) the team will have practice. Later on, Olympiacos head Coach Ernesto Valverde and Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou will hold a Press Conference in sight of Saturday’s match.
