Shortly after 13:30 on Monday, May 22nd, the players and staff of Olympiacos who traveled to Australia, landed at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” (via Dubai).
Apart from the Greek internationals, who had returned to their “home base” earlier, as well as Kevin Mirallas, who flew from Dubai straight to Belgium, the rest made it home, a little after noon on Monday.
Thanks to the beautiful moments they experienced in Australia, the players of our team came back to Greece with a smile on their face. The fatigue was obvious, but the attendance of the Greeks throughout the team’s activities, while in Melbourne, made it all worthwhile.
The friendly match against Melbourne Victory was practically the last one for Ernesto Valverde, as head coach of the Double holders.
At this time the training sessions will typically cease, as the internationals will depart in order to join their national sides in sight of the upcoming Euro 2012, which will take place in Poland and Ukraine.
