Mr. Michel opted for a 4-4-2 team formation. Roberto was at the goalpost, with Papazoglou defending on the right and Cholevas on the left, whereas Papadopoulos and Manolas were our center defenders. Giannis Maniatis and Andreas Samaria took on the center midfield. Weiss and Campbell were selected at the wings. In the attack, Javier Saviola teamed up with Kostas Mitrglou after quite a while.
Our Olympiacos was not at its best during the first 45 minutes, but the side took what it wanted at the second half. In 54′, Cholevas crossed into the box, Saviola received the ball, which via Custer reached Olaitan who fired home from inside the box for 1-0!
In 82′, “Chori” passed to Cholevas whose powerful, off-center, left-foot strike landed deep inside Przirofski’s goal for the final 2-0.
