Mr Michel opted for a 4-4-2 formation for our Olympiacos. Roberto was under the goalpost; in defense, from right to left, Salino, Avraam, Manolas and Cholevas. Maniatis and Samaris were our center midfielders, whereas Olaitan (right) and Campbell (left) took on the wings. Saviola and Sepovic were our forwards in the attack.
No later than in 5’ and following a promising counter-attack, Camara found himself at a good spot inside the box and scored the opener for Panaitolikos with a nice shot from close range.
Olympiacos was quick to level things, when in 26’ Samaris fired the corner kick and following a ping-pong inside Panaitolikos defense, Sepovic headed it to Olaitan whose second header from close range sent the ball deep in the net for 1-1!
Olympiacos kept on building up the pressure which came to fruition in 70’! After an Ibagaza corner kick, Bakakis was called for a handball by referee Mitsios. Campbell took on the penalty kick successfully and made it 2-1 in 71’, which remained until the final whistle.
