After showing videos of our side’s participation in International Champions Cup next summer and of all goals scored during this year’s campaign, Christian Karembeu entered the pitch accompanied by kids from our football Schools dressed with UNICEF t-shirts, with which our club launched this year a special partnership. The kids released red balloons, bearing a “41” print on them, up to sky.
Then, we welcomed our club’s U-15 team that, a few days ago, conquered the first Superleague championship for this age group. All young players gave the very oath to win that earned them this title, an oath featuring lyrics form the first team’s hymn; then they raised the cup in pure exaltation!
Right after that followed the awarding of Julio Losada, one of our past legends, and then a loving video dedicated to our former late Club president, Stavros Daifas, who recently set on his long journey across the eternal seas.
Next was a fabulous show full of percussionists, fiddlers and buglers greeting the children holding our 40 Championship titles. Superleague President, Giannis Moralis, walked across them followed by our President, Mr. Marinakis, then Savas Theodoridis and last our head coach Mr. Michel.
One after the other the players received their medal under delirious cheers from the stands and then took their place on stage, just like all technical and medical staff members. The last to step on were captains David Fuster, Giannis Maniatis, Ariel Ibagaza and Avraam Papadopoulos.
All 40 championships were raised in the air in a wave-like manner until the 41st one that was lifted high in the sky by our President! Thousands of fireworks lit up Piraeus! Next was the side’s group photo in a frame and this “legendary” ceremony ended with the typical round of triumph!
