Our Football Academy Administration announces launching our first School in the capital of UK.
In alignment with the club’s principles to further develop, upgrade and promote our Football Schools all over Greece and abroad, it is with great pleasure that Olympiacos welcomes London in our extended family as a new addition to our network.
Following a pair of Schools in the US, another five in Cyprus, Olympiacos sets also foot on the English capital with a new School set to commence operations early September.
Our London-based School will be headed by Mrss Anastasios Lamprianos and Nikos Spinos. During talks and contract signing for setting up the School, Mr Lamprianos was offered a tour around Olympiacos Training Center in Rentis and met both our School Network Director Vassilis Nanos and Academy Director Kyrtaikos Karatiaidis, U-20 General Manager Ariel Ibagaza and Head of Scouting Giorgos Amanatidis.
Our Academy Director Kyriakos Karataidis commenting on the new member of the Olympiacos School Network, stressed the following: “Olympiacos is everywhere. It is the largest Greek club and everybody knows it on this planet. After our schools in the UIS and Cyprus, it was time for London to join our family, we would like to wish them the best of luck; we will be standing next to our new partners, so that Olympiacos leaves a long-lasting footprint in London”.
Anastasios Lamprianos, while explaining the reasons of this collaboration with Olympiacos on setting-up a London-based School, he mentioned the following: “Olympiacos, for us, represents an idea. We grew up with Olympiacos, it is a way of living. We grew up with Olympiacos and they always make us proud. We chose to work with Olympiacos because it is the best raised club in terms of Academies, and this is demonstrated by the club’s School Network robust growth and their Football School’s s successes. London is a city with many Greeks living there and this will be something we will be based upon to achieve our target.
Our objective and an end in itself is to keep our gates wide open to all children living in London, regardless of their colour, religion, social class and country of origin. “We believe that sports may offer a lot to all children. Looking forward to having you in our London-based School”.
