-On what’s the reason for this defeat: “We didn’t make justice for ourselves today. We didn’t perform as we should, especially on the last five minutes of the first half. For me, that was when the match was decided. Our two unforced errors were paid with two goals. We are all very sad. We wanted to continue in Europe. Now we’ll focus on the Greek League. Offensively, Olympiacos’ plan didn’t work, unless the plan was to keep defending and to try for something better on the second half. However, any attempts you made in the match didn’t culminate with a shot. I believe we managed to get on the counterattack very easily with some quick passes. We managed to play on the wings. We were a bit behind, we didn’t have players in the area. As I said we were very good on the first half, but we paid for two errors in the last five minutes.”
-On the last match, against Juventus: “Surely it’s a motivation. We have to get our victory to make our supporters and ourselves happy. We’ll play for the victory”.
Felipe Pardo:
-On how the match developed: “We’re a team. We tried all together. On the first half we entered very well. We had any chances and we believed from the start that we could create something good. However, we lacked the passion and the intensity on the final attempt. We had many crosses. We could have scored and started the match differently, but at that moment we didn’t put the passion that we should have”.
-If Olympiacos could have done better on this season’s UEFA Champions League: “We certainly believed we could get something more. We gave away points that we shouldn’t have given in this group. At this level we have to try very hard. It seemed as if we were lacking thirst in some matches. We had to really believe it. Especially against this team, we could have done better against them, but we gave away points that we shouldn’t. Now, all we can do is to finish our spell in this group in the best way, hosting Juventus and doing the best we can on the pitch.”
Diogo Figueiras:
-His comment on the match: “We were a bit unlucky. We could have made more of the chances we had. Sporting made the most of them and we didn’t”.
-On the last match, against Juventus: “Sure there will be motivation for that match. Furthermore we are playing against one of the best teams in the world and we are hosting them in our stadium. Therefore, we want the three points”.
