History written in New York

Two of Olympiacos US-based football schools played their first friendly and history was made.

Unprecedented moments for the Olympiacos organization and Greek diaspora in the USA.

The Legend’s schools in Washington and New York played a friendly at the Maritime College facilities, in Bronx, with lots of people attending despite biting cold.

The individuals behind this historic moment were the School Directors, Socrates Sellas (New York) and Harris Karagiorgis (Washington), who shared a few words before kick-off and thanked the President of Olympiacos, Mr. Evangelos Marinakis, for this great opportunity they were given to lead such an important venture. Also, they pointed out their fantastic collaboration with the Director of Olympiacos Schools Network Vassilis Nanos and expressed their gratitude for his support to date.
All were moved when both the US and Greek National Anthem were played.

For historical purposes, the match ended in a Washington School win by 4-1; all people involved pledged to meet again next year.
