Míchel: “We could have scored higher, we thank the fans”

Míchel’s statement at the press Conference following the victory in Livadia.

Olympiacos did what needed to be done in the home court of Levadiakos and won the 0–1 victory for the 12th round of the Super League.

Our team’s coach, Míchel, at the press conference after the end of the match in Livadia, underlined the many missed opportunities of the ‘red-and-whites,’ but also highlighted the presence of the team’s fans in the away game:

“This victory gave us much to rejoice over, as we got the three points in a game that we had to win. We entered the first half dynamically, we created several opportunities and I think that the score is small – it could have been bigger based on the opportunities we had. We were a bit anxious at the beginning of the match because we made a good appearance on Sunday and didn’t want to take steps backwards. We wanted to continue with good appearances and get a good result; despite our score difference with the opponent we still had to make a good appearance.

So I thank my players because they understood the need to acquire the three points and they did everything to earn them. They scored a goal in the first half, during which our appearance was good, therefore we won the game. We also thank the fans for being “present” once again and this demonstrates their faith that we have a chance to advance in the championship.”
