What a dynamic comeback in Europe for Olympiacos U19 team for the UEFA Europa League competition.
The red-and-white outfit hosted Lecce at the Rentis Training Ground and beat the Italian champions by 3-1. This was an important step close to qualifying into the European competition’s next stage, where our side – should they manage to defend their lead in the return match to be held on October 25th in Italy- is set to play against the winner of the Puskas Akademia-Gabala tie.
The Italians were left one man down in 16′ after Zivanovic was sent off with a straight red card. Olympiacos took the lead in 20′ thanks to a Papakanellos masterpiece and Pascalau levelled things in 60′. The red-and-whites reacted and, in 71′, Kostoulas made it 2-1 before Pnevmonidis signed the final 3-1 scoreline.
