Sandhausen – Olympiacos 2-2

In its last friendly in Germany, Olympiacos drew 2-2 with Sandhausen.

The final chapter of Olympiacos friendly matches in Germany was written today with an away 2-2 draw, yet accompanied by an attractive performance, against Sandhausen

Olympiacos scored in 26’! Machado took a beautiful free kick from the left only to rattle Riemann’s crossbar! With the goalkeeper neutralized out of action, Olaitan jumped higher than everyone else to meet the rebounding ball and head it in for 1-0!

The first half ended with Olympiacos holding the lead.

In 54’, it just happened that…Sandhausen equalized. The original long shot by Lais was properly saved by Roberto who deflected the ball to the woodwork. However, our defense failed to react equally when and Blum took the rebound to convert it from close range. Our side’s response was prompt. In 59’, Fetfatzidis intercepted the ball at the midfield and stormed from the right. He closed in, passed to Dominguez and he added an assist pass to his account by feeding approaching Olaitan. The young striker calmly shot it on target and registered his second personal and team goal!

Dominguez and Fejsa suffered injuries after the 70’; Fejsa was able to return in the pitch following medical assistance, however the Argentinean could not go on. So, Olympiacos was left with 10 players for the rest for the match and, in 84’, our side conceded the equalizer by means of Knoll’s close-range shot from inside the box.
