A second-half lift-off did the do

A 5-1 home tie over Asteras Tripolis meant Olympiacos championship win no 20.

It was a fruitless first half with our side wasting many chances to score and the visiting team failing to convert their only play good enough to get them the lead.

However, everything changed after the break with Papastathopoulos laying the ground for an overwhelming victory in 52’. Within three minutes, Masouras fired home twice to make it 3-0, whereas Buchalakis added his name in the scoresheet in 65’. The Arcadia outfit managed to cut the deficit by one in 75’ courtesy of Carmona; Rodriguez netted in 84’ for the final 5-1.

Olympiacos (Pedro Martins): Vaclik, Vrousai, Manolas (46′ Cisse), Papastathopoulos, Reabciuk, M’Vila (61′ Bouchalakis), Mady Camara, Masouras (73′ Rodrigues), Aguibou Camara (46′ Valbuena), Carvalho, Tiquinho (29′ El Arabi).
