The President of Olympiacos, Mr. Evangelos Marinakis, stated the following during the awarding ceremony of the club’s 48th Championship at “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium:
“Over the past twelve months, we have experienced truly great moments — all our fans, all of us, all of Greece. We made Greece proud, we won two European titles, and in the 100th year of Olympiacos, we celebrate our 48th Championship. But we are not going to stop here — we keep on dreaming and we are to conquer even higher peaks.
What we’ve done — and what we must all recognize — is what has happened with our Academy, with the young players who three years ago were helping carry out the trophies in this stage. And now, this past year, these same players are starring both in Europe and in Greece, as part of Olympiacos’ starting eleven. We have four of these young players in our starting lineup. This is something truly great, something very positive. I want to applaud each and every one of these wonderful young men. We saw Christos and Kostoulas shine, scoring beautiful goals, beating Panathinaikos and other major European opponents.
Another very important achievement is the new Olympiacos Museum — a true work of art — which will open by June 30. It’s one of the most modern museums in Europe and in the world, and it’s something all Greeks will come to admire — a tribute to the greatness of our club. What matters most is that we love challenges, and in the end — against all our rivals or even enemies — we always finish strong, we always win.”
