Asteras Tripolis – Olympiacos 2-1

Asteras Tripolis – Olympiacos 2-1

Following an offside goal by Carrasco during injury time, Olympiacos unfairly lost 2-1 away in Tripolis from Asteras for the 31st matchday of the Super League.

The formation chosen by Mr Michel for Olympiacos included Megyeri under the posts. In defence, from right to left, played Miguel Torres, Manolas, Marcano and Bong. In the centre, Pele and Samaris were the ones mainly receiving the first pass, whereas Maniatis did the same many times. On the left played Campbell, whereas Machado had a freeplay role behind the only striker, Marko Šćepović.

Asteras took advantage of a momentary carelessness in defence and took the lead with a goal from De Blasis in 22′.

In the 60th minute, Maniatis was substituted by Vergos and it only took the young player a few seconds to score a goal! In 60′, Samaris took a corner kick from the right and the young player connected in the air and netted the ball with a header into Bantis’ goal making the score 1-1. Olympiacos was the better side, however the match concluded with an unfair ending since Carrasco scored the second goal from an offside position during injury time, making the final score 2-1.

OLYMPIACOS: Megyeri, Torres, Manolas (66′ Papadopoulos), Marcano, Bong, Pelé, Samaris (60′ Vergos), Maniatis, Machado (58′ Valdez), Campbell, Šćepović.
