A major challenge lies ahead for our Olympiacos. The mere participation of our club in the International Champions Cup to be held in the United States of America next summer is a huge thing in its own right. Some of the world’s biggest football sides, such as Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United will attend, and our Legend will be there too with them!
Our side is already getting ready for this overseas calling from across the Atlantic Ocean! Besides, such a major tournament that will feature so many top clubs requires particular preparation.
So, a delegation of the Legend, consisting of Pierre Issa and Kiriakos Dourekas, travelled to the US, namely New York and Chicago, in order to consult with the people organizing this great event, take a first idea of the stadiums where our side will be called to play these great matches, check the training grounds for Olympiacos and a number of other important details, such as hotel accommodation, transportation schedule etc.
They were accompanied by Grigoris Georgatos and Antonis Nikopolidis. Both overwhelmingly contributed in promoting the Legend in the US, since –together with the Chicago School of Football- they attended events held by the Greek Diaspora. The people in charge of the Olympiacos School operating locally gave a warm welcome to our club’s representatives and were greatly pleased with the presence of Grigoris Georgatos and Antonis Nikopolidis.
The “red-and-white” presence is particularly tangible in New York and Chicago. The fans of Olympiacos long to watch our side performing next summer and steps are already being taken so that our Legend’s trip to the US evolves in the best possible way.
