Two Chinese players join Olympiacos Academy!

Every single kid around the world who plays football dreams of joining a top team, win titles and perform in the UEFA Champions League.

Olympiacos, a club that combines all the above, couldn’t be but a strong magnet for young players. Thanks to the club’s consistent participation in the UEFA Champions League, its fame is spread all over the world; in the Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa.

Two young kids full of dreams, both born and raised in China, currently live and practice in the Rentis Training Center aspiring thus to join one day the Greek Champion, Olympiacos.

Yao Daogang and Kaiweisaier Xiamixiding followed their dream that brought them to Greece. Both young Chinese guys take part in our U-20 team, and they practice really hard in order to earn a place in Olympiacos Academy and grab the chance of a lifetime.

All Academy members, and U-20 players in particular, warmly received both Yao and Kai, and made them feel like home. U-20 team coach, Mr Vassilis Vouzas, who makes daily assessment of the players, said: “It is our honor to have these kids in our team; they are both of great talent and integrity. They surely need a lot of work. Olympiacos may provide young kids with everything they need and may help them improve their skills and chase their dreams. Recently enough, Beijing Enterprises players visited us and we were able to confirm how skillful and talented Chinese players are and that they may excel if trained properly”.

Our team’s General Manager, Mr Ariel Ibagaza, hardly ever leaves both Chinese players without constant advise and he keeps on telling them that he himself left Argentina at a young age to play in Spain and then in Greece.

Both players have already experienced the city of Athens and its sights, Greek food and our fellow citizens harm hospitality. They express their excitement and they hope to pass the test and become part of the team.

Yao Daogang, a kid born in 1997 and playing as a defensive midfielder, pinpointed in his interview with Olympiacos TV: “Greece is a very beautiful country and Greeks are very warm and hospitable. I am so glad to be here. Olympiacos is a very popular club, which I have found out via the UEFA Champions League and I do know they hold a long history. I’d love to be given an opportunity to play in Olympiacos; I know they are the biggest Greek club”.

Ο Kaiweisaier Xiamixiding, born in 1999 and playing as a left midfielder, is thrilled with his staying in Rentis and determined to work hard and succeed: “Conditions here are ideal and the level is very high. They offer us everything and I feel like home. I know I am lucky to be in Olympiacos and I would like to stay here. I understand I have to work very hard to become an Olympiacos players. Of all players who have played for Olympiacos, the one I admire the most is Yaya Toure”.
