In a landmark season for the club, celebrating 100 years since its founding, Olympiacos claimed the 48th league championship in its illustrious history! On Sunday night (May 4th), at “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium, the championship trophy for the 2024–2025 Stoiximan Super League season was officially awarded to Olympiacos. The team had mathematically secured the title four matchdays earlier, following a home victory over AEK. After the match against PAOK in Faliro, the official trophy ceremony was held.
Before kick-off, athletes from Olympiacos SFP departments entered the pitch holding all 15 trophies the club had won across all disciplines this season. These included:
- From Women’s Volleyball: Melina Emmanouilidou (Super Cup), Milica Kubura (Greek Cup), Gina Lamprousi (League)
- From Women’s Basketball: Eleanna Christinaki (Greek Cup), Angeliki Nikolopoulou (League)
- From Women’s Water Polo: Maria Myriokephalitaki (Super Cup), Margarita Plevritou (Greek Cup)

Also appeared the Youth team players, led by coach Romain Piteau, who had mathematically secured the U19 Super League title for the third consecutive season.
Following the end of Playoff MD5, the pitch of “G. Karaiskakis” was properly transformed to welcome Olympiacos’ 48th championship. Displayed across the field were the club’s previous 47 league titles, along with a path of success leading to its 48th one. Completing the scene were Olympiacos’ two European trophies: the UEFA Europa Conference League and the UEFA Youth League. Before the trophy ceremony, the stadium’s big screens played a video showcasing all the goals scored by Olympiacos during the league season, as well as a special tribute to the club’s 100-year anniversary.
The Spectacular Light Show
As always, Olympiacos made sure that its fans were part of the celebration. This magnificent crowd, who throughout the entire season filled the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium and stood by the team, contributed in their own way to the championship title docking safely at its home port this year.
To the supporters who were present at the stadium for the match against PAOK, special light-up wristbands had been distributed prior to kickoff. The fans wore these wristbands and raised their hands in the air, allowing Olympiacos to present a stunning musical light show, with colors emanating from the special wristbands.
The Champions Take the Stage
As the lights slowly came back up after the end of the show, the stadium revealed the 47 previous titles and the two European trophies on the pitch. Host Christos Ferentinos invited Katerina Koxenoglou (Acting President of the Super League) and Giorgos Daskalakis (CEO of Stoiximan) to bring out the 2024–2025 championship trophy. Then came the club’s leader, President Evangelos Marinakis, under whose guidance Olympiacos has won 11 championships in 15 seasons — a remarkable achievement.
Evangelos Marinakis: “We keep on dreaming; we are to reach even greater heights”
The President of Olympiacos, Mr. Evangelos Marinakis, stated the following during the awarding ceremony of the club’s 48th Championship at “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium:
“Over the past twelve months, we have experienced truly great moments — all our fans, all of us, all of Greece. We made Greece proud, we won two European titles, and in the 100th year of Olympiacos, we celebrate our 48th Championship. But we are not going to stop here — we keep on dreaming and we are to conquer even higher peaks.
What we’ve done — and what we must all recognize — is what has happened with our Academy, with the young players who three years ago were helping carry out the trophies in this stage. And now, this past year, these same players are starring both in Europe and in Greece, as part of Olympiacos’ starting eleven. We have four of these young players in our starting lineup. This is something truly great, something very positive. I want to applaud each and every one of these wonderful young men. We saw Christos and Kostoulas shine, scoring beautiful goals, beating Panathinaikos and other major European opponents.
Another very important achievement is the new Olympiacos Museum — a true work of art — which will open by June 30. It’s one of the most modern museums in Europe and in the world, and it’s something all Greeks will come to admire — a tribute to the greatness of our club. What matters most is that we love challenges, and in the end — against all our rivals or even enemies — we always finish strong, we always win”.
He addressed the fans from the pitch.
Following him, head coach José Luis Mendilibar, Strategic Advisor Christian Karembeu, and Sporting Director Darko Kovačević were introduced. They were joined by assistant coaches Antonio José Ruiz Pérez, Francisco Manuel Rico Castro, Sotiris Sylaidopoulos, team manager Thodoris Kokkinakis, the backroom staff, and the medical team — the unsung heroes behind the scenes.
Then came the stars of the night: the players.
They emerged from the tunnel in the following order: Alexandros Paschalakis, Francisco Ortega, Julian Biancone, Lorenzo Pirola, Marko Stamenic, Ayoub El Kaabi, Gelson Martins, Kristoffer Velde, Dani Garcia, David Carmo, Roman Yaremchuk, Costinha, André Horta, Chiquinho, Nikolaos Botis, Santiago Hezze, Luis Palma, Antonis Papakanellos, Bruno, Nikolaos Lolis, Charalambos Kostoulas, Christos Mouzakitis, Yusuf Yazıcı, Alexandros Anagnostopoulos, and of course, the Legend’s team captains Konstantinos Tzolakis, Rodinei, and Panagiotis Retsos.
It was Retsos, together with President Marinakis and the rest of the team, who lifted Olympiacos’ 48th championship trophy high into the night sky over “G. Karaiskakis.”
It was the moment when club and fans became one — celebrating together another historic title for Olympiacos.
